'Dapper' is the word that used to be applied. You don't hear it often now, just as you don't see many gentlemen dressed like this, at least in the West. He's of a time and an age. Beautiful, quiet social observation.

It's another winner Tommy. Love how he stands out, both because of the dof and the light on him. Almost as if you hazed the bg, allthough I don't think you did. The large version shows a delightfull sharpness and is certainly recommended. The man makes for an interesting enough subject, the setting makes for an interesting enough setting and the figures in the bg make for interesting enough figures in the bg.
Thanks. If I thought of darkening the bg seperately, I would still have been to lazy to actually do it. The whole image is darken a bit though, but the light was like this (+ it hit parts of the bag in the corner which I burned). His pose could have been more interesting though
Far too many 'interestings' here! He does stand out though as looking very 'western' in an 'eastern' place. What I have to admit I find distracting are the bright flashes of light in the far background. A difficult one I agree, so many good things but I am just that tiny bit unsure too!
My first thought was "How much better than this can it get". The central figure stands out beautifully - the dof is superb, the background figures discretely there in the dark, just as an interesting bit of the scene.
I do agree the lights at the back draw the eye a bit, but what the ****do you do with those kind of strong highlights - I say just ignore them
Unless you feel pressed to play in PS, and that can be such a bore. It's real life, someone reminded me of that today. Does it all have to be fixed and air brushed. OK - I'm off my soapbox now.
I LOVE THIS!
Anne
Oh I'm "chuffed" for you - well deserved!
Slit 'an med helsen.

Congratulations on the HC. ****** the bits in the background, this is a gem.
Moira
about time these got some recognition
Oh, ha ha! Koen goes all soft, I go a bit hard and Pete agrees with Koen. Well Pete seems sure enough of it for an HC, even if we were both a little unsure!
Many congrats. ![]()
those light bits are a bit of a worry but as a whole a very pleasant photo with good dof.
Congrats on a well deserved HC
well done on the HC, love all the detail and the emerging face in the background

essence of travel photography. Sometimes, normality is so beautiful. The earring is great. Bert
