Thanks for your nice comments, Natha and Peter.

This photo is of the nature center 15 miles south of us. By the time we got back to the car, the storm hit.

This is a fledgling, just out of the nest, that's why he seems different.

Beautiful face! You're right, the coloration is very similar. I took my photo a couple of days ago at our friend's place. She is not our cat.

Very nice photo, but you are right, this kind of life no longer exists, only kept alive for the sake of tourism.

Thanks very much, Peter and Nathan!

Don't worry, Peter, the counter to this are the light and airy flowers and colorful butterflies you've seen in my gallery. My imagination needs an outlet once in awhile.

Precious moment

Thanks very much for your kind messages Nathan and Peter!!!

This is my granddaughter. I'm very proud of her, she had a four-year dance scholarship and she is almost finished with her BA with a major in Science and a minor in Math. She still dances as well.

This was on our vacation. The two woodpeckers were having a 'show-off match' and I had a great time watching them.

Found one!

Thanks for your nice comment, Peter.SmileSmileSmile This is a chipmunk and they are less than half the size of a squirrel. This little fellow was hiding under the leaves for many minutes and when he thought I had gone, he re-appered with the acorn. It was a great moment for me.

A season for yellow by meandbruno

A season for yellow

Thanks everyone! I am very happy you like this photo. It is an Eastern Tiger Swallotail. I saw many during our recent vacation in northern Michigan, but I was surprised that there are no other butterflies out right now. Last year I saw several different species in the same area.

Yellow Warbler by meandbruno

Yellow Warbler

This little warbler was quite agitated, a crow had entered his territory. He sat in a small dead tree just long enough for me to take a couple of shots of him. A red-winged blackbird and this tiny bird managed to chase the crow out of the area.
