Bill Henson is an Australian photographer whose work I got to know recently because of the controversy surrounding an exhibition of his photos, which contained nude images of underaged kids.
I was very impressed by what I managed to see of him online, and was actually glad the controversy brought him to my attention (and no doubt to the attention of many others).
Controversy aside, here are some of his beautiful images. I hope one day I get to see them in print, rather than these small compressed photos online, who probably don't do them justice.
And then recently I saw a beautiful photo by our own Noemi (username setita), which reminded me very much of Mr. Henson's work, allthough she may very well never have heard of Mr. Henson. But it has that same contemporary, very intimate, free flowing style :
