First of a small series of photos I took along a 100 metre stretch of green wall in the Sathorn district of Bangkok. Hope it gives a nice idea of life at lunchtime in the business district of Bangkok.
Might post some in colour later, if it looks any good.

Had to do a bit of compression on the 1000 pixel version, but not complaining (delighted about the 350 kb possibility; really helps)

exposure time : 1/160 sec
aperture : F/4.0
photo taken at 12h50
location : Sathorn district, Bangkok, Thailand

Lovely tones and a really nice image of life. The subject would have made a really outstanding facial close-up subject.

Agree with you Dave, but didn't have my bag of courage with me (and lately I'm kind of looking for composition shots)

This is very special. The large version is a cracker. There's so much to enjoy in this beautifully toned, exposured and detailed image, but it's his priceless expression that's the icing on the cake. A beauty.

With Picasa Fred. So no seperate work with PS. Did level it a bit and a minor crop (something on the right I didn't like). Haven't done any prints of my uploads yet :o(
And now stop ruining my "views" ;o)

Allthough I was standing in front of him, I'm not sure that he was looking at me (took about 5 shots, and he always looked like this. Think his mind was just drifting away during his smoke-time-out.

easy lol... and free
some functions aren't really usefull, but especially like combining the shadowing/fill light/sepia/tinting functions. for some photos I really don't need PS, but if some areas of a photo need work, then Picasa is pretty useless, as you can only alter the photo as a whole. And love their filing system; easy and it looks terrific

There is so much on this site that many excellent shots get missed.
I picked this up by looking at your shots by way of the threads in the forum.
This is portaiture that says so much more about the person. Its strong stuff and his `pose` is almost indifferent to your presence as you say, and thats where it has that something else. B&W does tend to work better than colour with such subjects.
Just browsing through your other shots I think you put some thought in them. They show a commitment to photography without the technical hype. Perhaps at some time you may consider printing that would make an interesting series in book form.
well done and its a pleasure looking at this and your other work.

Ken
