Small alleys and vespa delivery boys, food vendors and people eating; exhaust fumes mix with the smell of food, wires along blackened walls mix with tree branches... Welcome to Chinatown
Thank you for viewing and commenting
Taken in Chinatown, Bangkok
Must be awards time again me-thinks, knocked out by this Koen, this is you at your best and this one definately goes on the list of favourites, its carrys interest in the height, width and depth, a joy to view.
Got to agree with all of the above statements, a cracker.
the angle and the tones are fantastic
The angle works great, the icing on the cake though is the exaust smoke. It just adds atmosphere and jumps the picture up a few notches..
Pleasure to click.
I agree with tommy, great angle. loads of activity. PAul
Everything about this is just how I remember it...several scenes in one at every turn, a complete assault on all your senses in one go. A very well captured, dynamic image Koen.
Outstanding and amongst your very best work ...
Some replacement you found...On my top-3-list of your shots. Right next to the bnw-cats and the billboard-guy and Nails (the colour one) and when mickey smiles and the time-out and the potw and..
The angle is fabulous. It's like you're lying there and the bike has just run over you but noone cares.
"fumigated soup" was the title that went though my head when I looked at this image large. which is a must btw.
Great change in perspective with the photo taken from and with a low angle.
Good blck & White. lots to see.
Did you do something to the sheets, they seem lighter then the rest of the image.
Love the angle in this shot, perfect gives it movement. The smoke out of the scooter just lifts it again and the people in the background oblivious to the whole thing, fantastic. Oh and it has that tonal range again from Black to white! spot on!
love the angle ,composition and toning
a cracker ..indeed
Faultless. And the best use of deliberate tilted horizontals I've seen for ages.
This is really superb Koen, and I agree with all that has been said. 1st class image, evocative, atmospheric. Should get a medal or something.
thanks for the nice reactions :o)
Kinda fond of this one myself.
Didn't do anything on the sheets robert (how could I... after all, I was lying there after the bike had run over me and no one cared ;o)
Great pic!!!!!! Love the tones and overall comp on this one! Gives a real urban feel...
Really interesting street photography. There's so much going on here. Great detail, as always presented as if it was taken and processed without any thought -- which cannot be true given the technical quality of your work. Regards, Bert
Love the low level pov and the angle on this.
wow.. gets all the senses (well nearly lol)
can smell it from here! fantastic shot
edit: just read your comment..pfft! you men are such drama queens! lol
Just had another look at this shot as I do often. A real cracker, I feel its one you can revisit time and time again. Just noticed how well it is framed!
A real beauty.
Awesome, one of your very best
thanks for the visits and occasional revisit ;o)
I have`nt been leaving many comments any where just recently Koen. Still getting used to a new and calibrated monitor. Taken a while to get used to. Great Compositions and tones, excellent detail and the dust bringing it all to life. Pure Quality.
Fabulous shot - don't know how I missed this one til now,
gotta agree with POOCH too
Great angle.Love it.
Got the link fron Poochie really great work and great low view point which leads your eye into the side street.
Suits mono perfectly.
So atmospheric and the angle gives even more impact.
