A Tribute to the silent men Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin
Taken in Bangkok, Thailand
One of my personal favorites ;o)
Thank you for viewing. Comments/critique are always welcome.
Damnit Koen - I love your photos.
They keep reminding me that there is so much more to see...
Oh dear, that looks a bit precarious, the health & safety executive wouldn't allow that in the UK. Superb capture and a fantastic title, excellent toning too.
Fantastic image indeed.
I believe this has been converted in one of my favorite... good... very good
wonderful, so like Buster anyhow, incredibly precarious!
this looks so good and so well caught...
this a candid or you set this one up, its that good to me lol..
Fantastic capture. The timing is perfect.Love it.
Thanks Ewan, Tony (as this is one of my favorites, I'm willing to beg for a real click ;o), Mark, Ana, Nicholas, Tommy (not set up... passed by him as he was busy. took about 20 shots. they all turned out pretty well, but chose this one because of the comical/clumsy - silent movies like - body language) and Ovi.
Set it up as a desktop on my pc already.
The subject matter of the poster is really appropriate for the theme, well seen and taken. I also like his pose, it reminds me of the suspence comedy of Harold Lloyd in the old silents.
Brilliant Koen. Just brilliant )
This is a winner Koen.
It's bl**dy brilliant.
I feel another award coming your way .....
Think this is one of your best to date.. very funny, eyecatching and the photography is stupendous. (Now that's not a word you often see in epz).
Hope it gets the attention it deserves.
Great capture, well spotted.
Koen, this is fantastic, true classic photography. I dream of coming across a scene like this!
Pete must be on holiday today Koen
Superb capture, deserves an award of Pete IMO.
Thanks for sharing this!
a very strong publishable image.
Fabulous capture Koen, love this to bits!! Would look fantastic as a poster itself!! Great shot!! Lyns x
Poster and subject are very apt. Well taken. PAul
Great work. Very eye catching...

Wow! Koen this is the dogs wotsits ,what a fantastic shot, and talking of wotsits ths guy must have trouble buying trousers I feel scared just looking at this, Brilliant.

Thanks Ovi for putting it on your desktop :o)
Mark, Dave, think I saw that award passing by at high speed and never looking back lol
"very apt"... lol... good one Paul :o)
Benjamin, agree on bigger = better for this
Thanks for the "stupendous" Phil (guess I can't call you blueunderscorewater anymore now that I know your first name ;o)
Your "Precarious" wasn't bad either Nicholas ;o)
Actually sounds like a bunch of old romans... When Precarious and Stupendous confronted Cesar about his wifes infidelities, the emperor turned white and gasped "Are you serious !"
Precarious remained calm and replied "no Caesar, Serious died last year during the Brittanica campaign, remember ?"
Now where did I put those little pink pills ;o)
A fantastic photo. Yvonne
wow!hat a great shot!
Congratulations Koen - fabulous ...
wow...this is the first time I have seen your images....they are all stunning, a masterpiece of a portfolio.
Only in Bangkok! love it, love it.
You have such an amazing way of capturing the real heart and soul of that city.
I really love this one!!!!
ps. keep taking the pills!
This is truly fantastic and I missed it! (sorry)Pooch is 110% right...this is the dogs wotsits! A cracker of a b&W.
I just LOVE this!!! How well spotted and taken. Even before I read your caption, my first thought was of Harold Lloyd. Absolutely bloody brilliant
I missed it too - wonderful capture Koen. Well seen and executed.
excellent, you really are on a roll lately.
Again one for in a photo book; are you preparing one? If not you should. CLICK
all been said amazing.....
thank you again :o)
really apreciate it (no book yet Robert; seems like so much work, and can't help thinking nobody would want to look at it anyway)
Koen a great piece of work, love the feel and good toning as well.
Excellent Koen - great work - JP
Stunning. This is just superb photography. It doesn't get better than this.
That is either one big guy, or a very small build... oh wait, it is a billboard!
My opinion: There should be at least one more EPZ logo next to this one...
Superb image Koen. Love the sense of scale, and the tonality and the composition. Only thing that niggles at me slightly is the bright triangle top right.
Great piece of oppurtunistic photography...
ah... feels good to wake up and read these.
Mark, the corner is the sky, as it was the side of the billboard. Had actually been doubting about it before posting... clone it out or not (also cloned out a few words on top that were half cut off). Finally decided to leave it. But still not sure about it either. Thanks
It seems you have a good a audience on this site alone. I'm sure a photo book with your photos would find its audience.
Cherish the original files. They will be needed some day I am sure of it.
very well done. Nothing more I can add.
Excellent shot, and perfect for a tribute.
Watched King Kong too many times?
See why it's one of your personal favs, it's fantastic large (dosn't beat those bnw cats, but is close )!
Bedankt Robert en Conrad :o)
(will cherish those originals Robert, book or no book ;o)
Thanks Georg and Tommy (always nice to see your upbeat comments)
Great shot! At first glance it seems that he is hanging from an actual building.
Oh, I love this one Koen. Superb.
Nice one.Larger is better.I love it.
Cracking shot - so well envisaged
Superlatives by the bucket load and quite right too. It's an absolute corker. You've certainly got a photographic eye.
Ver well seen and captured B&W adds to the silent image feel too
Fantastic candid shot!
Bleedin' hell! This list goes on forever! Well done you, but more importantly, well done him for not drawing a giant gorilla on the hoarding. (;0)
I've no idea how I missed this - must have been away for a couple of days. Awesome work.
This is a real eye-catcher.
Can't believe I missed this - brilliant!
Brilliant, let me make this a nice round figure of 80.
WOW ! My portfolio just got hit by Hurricane Lydia !
Lovely tones, very classy.
A great image. Well spotted. Who is pulling the ropes??????
The forum thread asking for people to pick an image from the previous posters portfolio is excellent, I have seen some wonderful images I had missed first time round.
Deserves all the accolades it gets!
thanks Andy & Mark :o)

Spent a few years in the Dominican Republic as well
I remember seeing this when you posted it up and I was so busy at that time I never even logged in for weeks so always looking but never clicking anything.
It's so good to come back to it now and catch up with such a fantastic picture, quite how it never got more than a RC I don't know but for me this photograph is up there with your "Nails" picture.

I'd missed it until now but am very pleased to have found it.

If it wernt for the writing on the right, It would have taken me a little longer to work out what was going on. lol.
If ever there was a shot that missed out on an EC! So well observed. I'm going to be in Bangkok in a week or so. If you have time, do you think you could PM me with some good places to photograph around the city?
