another good one, Mel!

p/s: u both still in France? Was wondering if u might be stuck in office or something like that (given today's events) until i recall that u might still be in France enjoying yourselves...

Sze, we're back at home now (came back yesterday). Luckily I'm still on holiday and don't go back until Monday, so I've been at home today. Everything is fine here. I was going to contact you earlier to ask if everything was OK with you, but I saw you posting a couple of comments, so assumed everything was fine.

Thanks everyone else for your comments on this pic.

Thanks Mel!! We're good...Yuan woke up late so got to the tube "too late" and was refused entry into the tube station...So thankfully, he stayed at home the whole day with me monitoring the situation on internet and tv news. We're quite upset with what has happened (cos London has in a way become our 2nd home), and thought the whole situation surreal and senseless. Glad u both are good too!! =)

Liking this one too, but the clour one just aces it for me. I love the fact that you can see that Rab appears lost in his music in both shots..

Lovely photo, the DOF is spot on. Very good detail in the hands and wedding ring.

Just read lord Nikon's comment, looked back at the photo and thought;

'bet he's playing old mcdonald had a farm!'

Great work Mel, havent tried the 'in camera' crop on the D70 yet, seems a bit pointless to me when its as easy to drop it into PS?

How did you find it? Is it easy to do?

Gav

PS Glad to hear all is well with you both (and Sze and Yuan.)

Thanks everyone for your comments.

Gav, thanks, we are fine here in London.

Regarding the in camera crop, it just makes you think about your composition more. Yes, it's very easy to take your photo and crop it in PS, but it's quite satisfying to not have to crop it.

Another great shot - difficult to pick between the two but overall I think I prefer the composition of this one plus I quite like grainy BW.

Hi again Mel

Yes, definitely prefer this one. Like Tony, I prefer the composition here and the monotone. I think Rab's face looks nicer too somehow... Wink I love the depth of field though - makes me think I need to buy a new camera.

Alan

PS Glad you're both OK.

Excellent shot, really well composed and I love the grainy, blurry background and the expression on his face.

Big fan of this one Mel - the light is just right on both foreground and background.
