Following on from the wine glass, here is a shot I did using a glass cup and more fruit flavoured tea. I learned a valuable lesson from this one. Fruit flavoured tea is far from clear and there were so many bits showing in the liquid that it spoilt the image. So I had to do some selective gaussian blurring to get rid of them. Next time, I will use something clearer, like grape or cranberry juice perhaps.
If anyone's interested, I will upload the original in the mod section, so you can see what I mean :o)
Again, lit with snoot at the right hand side, using the wall as a backdrop.

Super lighting and I would guess that this isn't easy to light..love the shape and form.
Nigel.
Thanks all, much appreciated. The lighting wasn't too difficult actually. I blacked out the windows with black cloth to stop unwanted reflections and put the honeycomb part on the snoot, then shone the light onto the wall, which then bounced back onto the subject to light it and gave the gradation in tones.
WOW!!! Okay, I've never seen your portfolio before, and I'm sorry I've missed it! These are fabulous - you have a great feel for light and composition.
I've replied to your post on my abstract 3 by the way...

You did a great job bringing out the colours from the original. Professional job I think.

As I scrolled down I thought the image looked even better with the top cropped! ![]()
