A stone circle thing on Big Moor in Derbyshire.

Don't really know any more - could be stone age, could be iron age, or could be something the tourist board knocked up in the eighties.

Thanks for looking

Thanks for having a look.

I was perhaps being a bit flippant with my description - there were three cremations excavated from the circle that were carbon dated to the Bronze Age (gold star for Ollie) - but what's there now was restored in the eighties.

Lovely light with a subtle lead in to the frame. I have a strange urge to step into the ring of stones, listening to Kajagoogoo an my walkman.

Steve.

As urges go that is pretty strange, though now you mention it I can sort of see a circle full of druids shaking a shoe to 'too shy shy'.

Now there's a thought.

Martin, there are a few in the vicinity. Do a search for 'Barbrook Stone Circles Big Moor' (this is Barbrook II) and you'll find them. Perhaps not ever so photogenic (as I seem to have demonstrated here) but easy to get to and worth a look.

Michael
