I like V1 better, as it is more concentrated on the subject, Michaela. Brilliant!

Lovely saturated red, Michaela. The position of the sun has given some great light and shadow on the boat rim (I'm sure there will be a nautical term for it somewhere), and the dof is perfect.

The tighter composition in V 1 sets it apart for me, Michaela: such vibrant colours, shadows and patterning. B/g nicely OOF but distinct enough to place the shot.
One of your best.
Ronnie.

I'm very impressed with both versions, Michaela. V1, for the reasons stated by so many comments above; and V2, because it's different.
Actually V1 is more concentrated, more abstract, if that helps Smile

Two stunning images Michaela - and I can't choose between them; they each have their own merits, but if I really have to choose, I think v1. That red is very captivating!

The tighter, more intimate crop of V1 without the distraction of the blue boat in the bg wins for me, Michaela.
