The name refers to a massive development of shops and houses built - mainly holiday homes for the rich - on reclaimed land at the margins of the Knysna lagoon (South Africa). The development was controversial to say the least and was bitterly opposed by ecologists and local people, particularly those home-owners whose view of the Indian ocean was obstructed. But, hey, money talks and we can only appreciate beauty where we find it.
