Definitely No 1 for me Dave, it takes me back to being a bairn. I used to live above the Co-Op next door to Cossars.

Monster Tyre

Tell the truth Ian, its a normal size tyre, your boss only employs Oompah Loompahs!! Another smashing shot really Ian, I love the insight to working at an opencast that you give us with your shots. Excellent.

St. Mary's

You really caught the light with this shot Dave.

St Marys Lighthouse II

Good shot Darryl, as Dave says, very natural colours.

Frosty dawn

Another great image Dave, I think I prefer version 2 personally.

Garden Waterfall

Version 3 is the one for me Darryl. The contrast gives it the extra punch it needs.

The Couple

The Couple by Dave_Henderson

Well spotted Dave, I have been to Newbiggin a couple of times and been uninspired by the offshore sculpture. You have managed to find an interesting angle that draws the eye into the picture.

North Blyth Dawn

I have to agree with Darryl, Lovely shot Dave. I'm going to have to set my alarm clock and get out there!

Sea defence

Sea defence by Dave_Henderson

I love the simplicity of this image Dave, the hard edges of the wall and rocks and the softness of the sand. It may shot at Newbiggin but it could easily be mistaken for dawn in the desert!!!

Dozer Down!

Dozer Down! by Ian_Sweet

Excellent work Ian, this is a fascinating archive of surface mining in the 21st century that you are building up.

My "Better" half

Nice image Darryl, I like the vignette and the soft focus feel to the shot. Good one.

Smashed!!!

Smashed!!! by Ian_Sweet

Both images are excellent as usual Ian, I think I prefer the colour version best.

Jodie

Great image Ian, talk about great minds! Excellent separation from the background and you've caught a really thoughtful expression there.

Jodie B & W

Jodie B & W by DJLphoto

Another good image Darryl, works well in B&W. I like the way Jodie is looking away from the camera, it makes you wonder what she is looking at.

Jodies Eyes

Cracking shot m8, a really good image for your first try with a studio set up. Ian has made some good suggestions, I think cropping right in on the eyes might give you another image with loads of impact.

See you on Wednesday,
Mick.
