"Mabel, I think I've found something!"
Second in the series of Photos of Shawhead. A lot of the fields are used for grazing by cows, and in a particular field beside the village is the friendliest family - really inquisitive too. Whereas most cows would stay at some distance, these cows walked along the perimeter to see who was walking past, which was quite fun as these two in particular checked out the view at every little gap in the hedging.
The cows are certainly very photogenic and I got loads of shots, but this one in particular stood out as they seemed even more inquisitive here. The tags on their ears signify their milk yield -
green means young, high yield,
yellow means older, decent yield,
blue means not milked.
Possibly the 'yellow tag' cows have seen it all already, hence being much more friendly and accepting of the world... Who knows!
