I can now understand what you lot mean when you tell me you had to wait for the right conditions to take your shots.
I had to wait until the tide went fully out for this one.
A splendid idea as I discovered.
Especially when there is a pub nearby to do your waiting in !!

It was well worth the wait to get this one Mick, rope and rust a photographic must
If it gets covered by the water, I wouldn't want to tread on that by mistake, ouch.
The wait was worthwhile, Mick.
I'm surprised Mike to hear you were more interested in "schooner" beer or guiness glasses (15 fl oz's known in UK as "pints") than you were of the nautical "schooners". I'm surprised you could still focus after 2 hours, but then again you may be as conditioned as I am to bending the elbow - oh, top shot by the way

Oh how very convenient to have a pub nearby, but more than that, I am amazed at the lack of camera shake in this shot after your sojourn into the pub! Excellent as ever.
What a lovely tangle, different materials returning to nature.
I've uploaded a low tide shot today. But we didn't find a pub...

The problem for me would be waiting too long in the pub . . .
Delicious mangled mixture.

Bill
Wonderful image Mick, great compostion, textures and tones, well worth the wait ![]()
Hugh
....and how steady you held the camera after your visit to the pub - I'm impressed!!

I too have found that it's easier to photograph things when they're not submerged. I've also found that it's easier for me to photograph things when I'M not submerged. Which brings me to the pub
Good pub?
This is incredibly sharp, Mick, especially considering the pre-pic-pub-pop-in.
Andrew
Well, thank goodness there was a pub to take refuge in, it would have been a bit boring sat waiting for the tide going out! Well wait that wait, Mick, a splendid shot ![]()

Worth it's 'wait' in Gold Mick, and of course, sinking a Pint or two for.

Well you still had a steady hand to take this - so the tide must have gone out quite quickly Mick ![]()

Bonus.. A pub nearby... Great sharp close up...
I wondered what you have to wait for... of course, look at the left D- shacle, you had to go for may a pint to wait for it to season that nicely to multi-layer rust ![]()
A click for the image, two for your commentary. I needed a chuckle. Trying to pack for vacation, packing for two (does your wife do that too............) is a pain in the ...........
Great shot Mick.
