So... We'd been walking round Westonbirt for around 8hours, feet aching, the bar was calling and by general consensus, the light was definitely fading.
As we we rounded what we hoped would be the final bend before the gate to the car park - this appeared. Too tired to even set up the tripod, I just lifted the viewfinder to my eye, set the camera and fired using the weight of the dangling tripod to steady the camera as the shutter speed was a tad slow - even for a 12-24mm.
As it happened, it was the final bend so all was well!!
(Added a touch of 'glow' as the resulting shot is just a fraction 'soft')
Hope you like it...

Thanks everyone. Appreciate all the kind comments here...

This is so beautiful and I get the pleasure of being the 30th voter.
LOL!!!! At least yours would have been pin-sharp Cheryl!!
Well worth the effort Mike. It always pays to have your camera out right up until the end. Mine had been put away and I didn't feel inspired to get it out again. That was a mistake.
Lovely image and handled well in post production. Hope the new job is going well.
Best Regards
Gerry
Thank you for your kind words Gerry...
Best Wishes - Mike
