...my choice for a sunrise that morning, and some colour did show but snow was in the air and the clouds were pouring down across Loch Torridon towards Shieldaig on the other side, below the round mountain.
I'm imagining the house looking out over the water, observing everything.
Just that hint of red adds so much, it lifts the spirits.
I have tried so many times to take a good shot of this well known house and view....and failed each time! This is lovley Dougie. Ann.
Wow, to live in a house like that. Great colours and reflection
If you see a For Sale sign on that house please let me know. Lovely shot.
Beautifully caught mood in this Dougie. I could just step inside the image and sit there watching the changing conditions.
Going through the gallery thumbnails this one jumped out at me...why am I not suprised its one of yours....top class image Dougie - the light, the composition - its there in spades
...just one small point on my 2nd look - the edge of the cottage is a wee bit tight in the frame but that is all.
A patch of light on the water - just for you!
Like the patch of light in that heavy looking sky Dougie
Nicely composed with some good sky colour. I like the way the tree on the left nicely balances the composition.
A place for every photographer wanting to stay in
most impressive view and a wonderfully atmospheric shot Dougie
love those snow clouds so low
Great location and image.
another stunner, love the way the clouds come down to meet the mountains, great autum colours , a beautiful scene and a pleasure to look at, great work !
So much has already been said, Dougie, but for me the outstanding feature here is the light, and that, I guess, is what it's all about, and here, set in a beautifully crafted composition.
Scottish weather and light, the reason we down South want to visit Dougie !!!!
Many Thanks Ronnie a pleasure getting these awards from fellow photographers.
I like the moody sky, and depth from the layered mountains in this Dougie.
A lot of very positive comments and little wonder, this is very good.
brilliant comp dougie wonderful colour and light very dramatic sky a cracker nice one
Ooooo.....gorgeous shot !!!.....love the drama in that foreboding sky !!!!!!
That little bit of colour in the reflection adds to the early morning atmosphere. The red roof of the croft house is perfect amongst the greys.
A nice few spots of colour from the sky, reflection and the roof of the house too. I also like that bit of water movement down the centre. Moira
I like the moody sky and great bit of light. Very photogenic location and beautifully photographed Dougie.
Serene and beautiful, good to see you are following the rule of thirds Dougie
Gorgeous! I love the patterns in the water and the subtle light and colours in the clouds.
I can see that a lot of thought went into the composition Dougie and you have succeeded in arranging the elements perfectly. The light is wonderful.
Fabulous Scottish magic from you Dougie, as always. I remember standing by this little cottage a few years ago.. a wonderful place
Such a lovely mood
What a landscape in front of that cottage! Heavenly.
