I guess there's not many places in the world where you could find quite so many beautiful, vintage ships, so I took a quick shot with my G9. The little rowing boat in the foreground was a nice bonus.

I thought that there was something rather surreal about the scene and that the straight shot might benefit from a spot of modification. I've never done anything like this before so way out of my comfort zone.

Be interested to hear what you think.

I like the treatment Mike. It goes well wihh the image especially as there is no modern ships or artifacts within the frame. Even the rowing boat looks as old as the tall ship in the background.

Cracking shot !.....the added texture has created a lovely 'antique' feel to the image, which matches the age of the ships....1st class !

Well, now it's got to 22!

Like a lovely and old-fashioned post card, this. What about de-saturating a little? Not that it's in the least bit over saturated, just to make it look even more like an old faded postcard. Just an idea. I think these old ships make a fantastic subject and the rowing boat is just perfect.

Steve.
