Earlier in the year,I bought a few Dahlia tubers , with the intention of having some flowers to photograph later in the year. Yesterday, the first of these decided that it was opening time. It was raining most of the day, but i went out during a lull, and took this shot, and I hope to get more in the next couple of monthsSmile

How delightful...so you have the same 10 days of drizzle that we got at the moment.
You found such a beautiful flash of colour in the dull green on grey - green

That's a fine specimen, Mike, you've captured it beautifully with great detail and natural colour. My mother, loved Dahlia's but not the earwigs that always seemed to accompany themSmile

The rain drops add that nice wee extra touch to this beautiful two toned dahlia, and I like the inclusion of the bud: and such a good buy, as they are likely to go on flowering until the first frosts.

A beautiful specimen Mike, often the best time to photograph flowers is after the rain when the raindrops enhance their natural beauty
