Bald Eagle

Bald Eagle by BigusDickus

Superb timing to create a very powerful image

A brilliant capture!

A bit of a Stretch.

A bit of a Stretch. by Kingfisher8

A really nice picture. It look a bit dark (on my screen, anyway) - could you do a bit of shadow recovery on the face to bring the detail out ?

Splash!

Splash! by Stevetheroofer

Nice try - at least you got the critter on screen which is not easy when trying to focus on where they have dived. Well done for that!
I would push the ISO up to 800 which would have given you a shutter speed of 1/1500 to freeze the motion - maybe even go to ISO 800 with f8 and shutter of 1/750 to give better DOF. You will see that parts of the plumage have blown out so the +1 compensation was not necessary under those circumstances (the wet feathers will reflect a lot of light, just like the water) and that would give you another stop to play with. In fact, you may be able to underexpose by one stop and rely on the camera's sensor quality to pull it back in post processing (something I do regularly with my 7D) in cloudy conditions.

A wonderfully balanced set of poses.

Fairy Drops

Fairy Drops by Quoise

Another winner, Quoise.
I prefer the turquoise version myself - in the orange version I am not sure if it is the graduated effect or that the tophalf is too bright and takes the detail away (on my screen anyway). But if I saw the orange version by itself I would still like it.

battersea lit

A very good cityscape.
Could you tone down the towers a bit as the brightness is out of balance with the rest of the scene and keep dragging my eye away. I don't think it needs much, just enough to remove the harshness.

I still like it though!

Sammi Jo 2

A lovely portrait. It caught my eye even as a thumbnail and certainly doesn't disappoint viewed larger.

It's my Fish

What a wonderfully timed shot, and so dynamic.

Gotcha!

Gotcha! by Steve_S

What a fantastic shot!

So jealous! I am trying to get the same with our local kingfishers and I am understanding how damned difficult it is!

Prince of Glen Etive

Prince of Glen Etive by martinjackson

A good picture that really shows the textures of the deer's fur, and the distance to the hills allows for background blur.

Is this a crop? I see you have used a 36mm focal length and I was wondering if you had more space around it to show it in its environment?

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star by Quoise

This is wonderful image: simple and captivating.

Have you tried copping left/bottom to take the main drop off centre? At times the dead space left/bottom takes my eye away.

Bonding

Bonding by philhomer

That is lovely image, Phil.

What is the 'rule of reciprocity' you did not follow? Do you mean you underexposed to get the shutter speed you needed?

Aquilegia Hybrid 'Pastel Pink'

Aquilegia Hybrid 'Pastel Pink' by jackyp

Well-balanced, harmonious, eye-catching....the complete package. A superb image (and one that would probably do well commercially if you chose)
Is that backdrop for real or did you set it up?

Poppy

Poppy by Rende

A nice image with good lighting and wonderful detail.

I have one question though - was this a red poppy or an orange one? The reason I ask is that I shot some brightly lit red poppies a couple of years ago and could not understand why they came out (this shade of) orange instead of red - looking at the histogram the red channel as completely blown and in bright sun I had to underexpose by up to 2 stops to keep the reds the right shade, but it played hell with the rest of the image (though I do note you have underexposed) !
Don't let that detract - because I don't know the original colour it is not distracting me and I still think it is really good.

The lighting has been used very effectively.

#1 looks like he is asking a very serious questions, #3 just looks cheeky
