I took this at a slow shutter speed and waved the camera about a bit to try and make the waves of light give of a spooky effect. I have just started submitting my work and any advice would be more than welcome.

Have you tried making light lictures with a torch? If you use a tripod and a torch with different coloured lights perhaps you can then find somewhere pitch black and draw pictures with the iight and the long shutter speed will capture the whole picture. It looks really call and i can't wait to try it properly when the weather gets nicer.
