First upload in a long while!

Set of images taken at the nearby Bangour Village Hospital. Many people i know were born here...hard to believe it when you wander round it.

It was built in 1909 and was a psychiatric hospital but later developed buildings specialising in burns treatment and maternity care.

The final ward closed in 2004.

Fascinating place - but not on your own!

Excellent set of varied photographs providing fairly comprehensive cover of the subject. V5 is a fine abstract while V2 really shows my sort of decay. But V1 is very much the star with its shallow dof leaving the building scarcely more than hinted at in the background. Great stuff, Julia!

A spooky angle that suits the day perfectly.
The series is particularly suited to a photodocumentary and takes me back to a place that I spent some time as a student.

Hi Brian - we were up there today - looks great with a bit of blue sky and sunshine!
You can't get into the buildings though - i took the inside one through a gap in a boarded up window.

Featured e2 photo at the moment.

This is a very good set, with an interesting variety. The angled camera works very well in #1, allowing you to fit the mossy post and hte building in the frame without having to zoom out too much and include a lot of boring sky and grass. The dramatic side-lighting in #2 really brings out the textures and the pealing paint. #4 has nice areas of light and shade and #5 makes an excellent abstract.

Drat! If I'd known where this was, I could have popped by on the way back from Pitlochry.
