Great light and tones, quality image in keeping with the rest of your PF.
Top fashion image and those eyes are really quite incredible...such a sucker for dark eyes me.... ![]()
Hello, Matthew. Your portfolio shows some extremely competent work. Your model's face is beautiful, but I feel the large ring drawing my attention quite a lot. I can, however, see how it is appropriate to the image. You have put this into the CG, but there is little to critique, so I am going to be extremely picky. Firstly, the highlights in the white of the eye could be removed with a careful bit of cloning. Secondly, the nail varnish could be digitally painted with a touch more accuracy. Thirdly, the little black triangle of the jacket in the bottom right corner could be removed (I notice you cropped it out when you did a triptych). I have done a mod.
Pamela.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess Fashion i slike most genres, everyone has their own likes/dislikes. The look isnt meant to be natural...I.e The make up, hair etc...its completely the opposite. I like the contrast between beauty/awkwardness. Or maybe im alittle biast as its my image? Just alot of fashion stuff I see, and im talking editorial fashion rather than commercial, tends to have very awkward, slouchy poses.
Agreed. You look at any decent fashion magazine nowadays and no pose in there at all look natural. Framing, cropping is all against the "natural" instincts of what you would see, but the light and the make up is superb. So, in the context of the type of image this is, the hand there and the look and framing work perfectly. This could easily be in a magazine or the like, but doesn't conform to what people would normally think should comprise of a portrait. I like your work. Different...
The three categories you've put this image in are the three I'm least qualified to talk about but the discussion has been very interesting to follow. ![]()
I rather like the photograph but I do wonder if there would be some way of getting a little more of her arm into the shot, to make the hand look a bit more connected to her but, somehow, without losing the tightly-focused crop. An alternative might be to play on the idea that the hand does look a bit like it isn't hers: perhaps replace it with a man's hand?
To add to the list of minor nitpicks, the placement of her index finger and her ear doesn't quite look right. The ear-ring looks a bit like a claw and the ear is only just showing behind that finger.
