[quote]This picture gives me a real problem.
I was attracted by the thumbnail, which is lovely. The full-sized image fulfils the promise of the thumbnail, with one notable exception - the watermark slap bang in the middle.
I can see that your pictures are highly stealable - you specialise, looking at your portfolio, in shots that would grace any brochure or postcard stand, and I can conceive that you may have suffered thefts in the past.
However, this is a sharing/voting/critique site, and most members submit pictures on the same basis as they would to a local club competition (most of the exceptions being professionals, who view the site as an advertising opportunity) - in which case, I'd suggest that any watermark should be outside the main picture area (as it is on the other shots in your portfolio that I've just looked at). Even then, it's contentious...
I think there's a choice to make - going for viewer pleasure, or making it harder for people to steal.
You have my vote - because it is a lovely and accomplished shot, and because I have commented very forthrightly. I do see a choice to make, though. And I promise I won't repeat the comment.[/quote
]Thanks for your comments and I shall consider the placement of copyright in the future. But strangely the person making this comment, has placed watermarks right through the middle of their images on their website. So presumably they don't want them stolen!!
