One of my first outings with my camera, I just wanted to capture the serenity, coldness and beauty of the day and the river.

Hi Tracy,

Another good winter's scene, well done. I love the framing with the tree to the right although I feel the branches coming down from the top tend to invade a bit. In the mod I have removed some of the branches and cropped a little also as the sun is coming from the right I have warmed the tree's on the left by going to channel mixer and with the sliders, up the reds, up the greens and down the blues, with this type of scene you get this effect. Also to bring out the reflections and hanging branches I have used a high pass filter with soft light. I have purposely over sharpend you image to give you an idea what this filter can do, it's down to you to find a balance that pleases you.

Take care

Martin

I'll join Stuart (Jackalltog) and just say what a lovely image this is. Two good mods and nothing I could improve on. Your p/f is starting with some lovely images.

Very nice. Looks cold. Might just crop the bottom a bit - loosing some reflection wouldn't matter. Must be on a tripod?
