RIGHT THEN - THE RESULTS!

First off, can I say a Huge Thanks to Duncan (v8dunc) and EPZ for donating the prizes. Also to the EPZ members who attended the Pitlochry meet, as the money they have raised is funding the other prizes.

the entries were yet again all of a terrifically high standard - well done to everyone!

SO - without further delay

1st Place. kathersmith (£50 of photography vouchers – courtesy of v8dunc) A wonderful image which really gets over the feel of one man totally absorbed in his hobby – no idea that the light is failing, or that he’s there on his own. We loved the simplicity of the composition, and the hint of red against the blues – a worthy winner – well done!

2nd Place. Emmeline (3 months e2 membership – courtesy of EPZ) we loved the abstract feel to this and the fabulous colours, well composed and presented.

3rd Place. Jara (3 months e2 membership – courtesy of EPZ) a great image of how hobbies don’t need to take up space or money – well composed and a good neutral background.

4th Place. stevoe_mc (3 months e2 membership) a super portrait, great natural colours, made us smile – can imagine him with that camera permanently attached.

5th Place. marco_devalle1 (3 months e2 membership) a super B&W image, and a unique take on the theme.

6th Place. miss_v (1 month e2 membership) love the point of view and the clever use of the reflection in the lens.

7th Place. ldavis66 (1 month e2 membership) what other colours could you use for chess than B&W? Well thought out, we liked the feel of confrontation that this image gets across.

(Highly Commended)

Woollyback – we love the light on his flank - another image with good colours too.

motorsportpictures – a super composition with the golden light – just proves you can find different shots of your hobby if you put your mind to it.

cameraboy – great colours, super composition.

AD2009 – a super close up of the moon, with astonishing detail.

Other Entries

Supershot101 – fabulous background here, that really adds to the shot.

Jonah794 - a super action shot with great colours.

nishad1994 – great to see “different” hobbies like this, works well in B&W too.

JoshReptiles – a great idea to use both hobbies in one image – well thought out.

kit_kat – a well-timed shot, with great colours and a lovely sky.

Scotyboy – a well thought out shot, we really liked the red coat and the placement of the subjects in the frame.

ceri_baxter – a really well composed shot, lovely use of Depth of Field.

WilliamRoar – a great idea, superbly executed – certainly made us smile.

RhysHerbertPhotography – a super portrait, we know that pose well.

jamestheboy – managed to make a model look like the full-scale vehicle – super natural colours.

digitalgirl – a well composed shot – we liked the diagonal placement of the violin.

Emiyellow – (late entry due to complications) great pose, love the composition.

Lucbarker - (entered and deleted – re-posted after competition closed) lovely colours and details.

Once again, well done everyone - next Junior Competition is scheduled for the last weekend in February - see you all then
