Something very different, this is a shot from a recent photoshoot with an "alternative" model. I know this will not be to everyones tastes and I am not expecting a bucket load of clicks, but I really would be grateful for opinions on the technical side of the photograph. I really wanted to create some atmosphere and I have used extremes in lighting to achieve this.

How strange that the larger version makes such a difference - so size IS important!. Very different. Excellent model and set-up.

Mo, I think the set-up is great and the top half of model stands out really well. The bottom half could be improved - it needs lightening but only if the feet we more interesting (spikey heels or even bare feet) and the cross legs create too much of a straight down pose. Perhaps legs curved to offer a sweeping shape in the bottom of the image would help to give more overall interest.
Overall mood is very good though,
Julia

Thanks for the comments, Mike you would be surprised at how busy this model is, and she is a realpleasure to work with.
Julia thanks for your input, I do have another couple of poses that may work better, thanks again for taking the time to comment!

Hi Mo,it's an excellent shot, the look of the model makes me think of cabaret or chigago the films and i keep thinking of her standing with one foot on a chair and leaning or holding onto the back with stilleto's showing off the legs.Just a suggestion as i am definitely no expert. This is still a quality shot Mo.Take care.AnnSmile

love it! cant give any tech talk though cause have no clue but what works for me are the colours used - the purple and red are very sensual and sexual colours which works fab with the scene as well as the silk and feathers. a+

Works for me, like the mask and the colours, I agree that the bottom half of the photo holds less impact, but not really sure why, possibley the footware or the way the legs are crossed, but great image.

Ok, you're right the model may not be to my taste but looking beyond that you've got some lovely lighting going on for the background and bed.

The light on the model is generally nice but I find the bright hihglights out of place with the ambience of the rest of the picture.

Nice work though.

Keep returning to this Mo, suggests either the old wild west or something french, rich colours and ladies with curves. Would like to see more shots of this model.

I can't comment on the techie aspect of the shot Mo but it's good to see a different type of model. I will say that the soft focus works and the large version needs viewing

I like this a lot. The tone and feel of the image is very atmospheric - like already mentioned it feels like maybe behind the scenes at a cabaret show, or maybe a bordello (NOT brothel!), or maybe even a circus ... anyway, I think it's great :O)

Its ok and I suppose one pose is as good as the next but the lighting is slightly high key across her chest, if intended as stated with ' extreme ' lighting techniques then ok Smile

I am very impressed Mo, a lot of thought and preparation has obviously gone into this shot and I think it works very well. The lighting is very good and the background though busy, only adds to the atmosphere. Well done.

Well mo ... it certainly is different ... Lol ... not my cup of tea I am afraid ... but ... looking at the work itself that has gone into this .... I think it is excellent tho I too think that there is burn out on her breasts which spoil the effect just a little .... otherwise the colours .. and light are wonderful giving the kind of atmos you were obviously aiming for! So ... I reckon 10 our of 10 for some great work! Click*

Excellent job Mo! Looking at the smaller version I thought her leg's looked 'dirty', but the larger version revealed the detail of the lace stockings. I think you did a great job on this one.

this dimly lit shot as a real misteak about it with lots of strong colour expressing itself in bits of the photo.

my have had a bit of backlighting in the fevers.
