Chestnut Husk

On a late afternoon walk recently I was quite surprised to find more than a few chestnuts on the ground. The old farmer's superstition was that this was one of the signs of an early fall and a cold winter. Since I actually far prefer these conditions to having to endure the now ubiquitous summer heatwaves here in the US, I personally will be delighted if this turns out to be true.
