I really like the effect, if you're worried about the words on the page you could always make up a dummy page with just the ones you want on it

Fabulous sky that really sets off the landscape

If I'm being brutally honest, I feel that the framing doesn't really add anything, and possibly might actually lessen the impact. Might be nice to see it in a "standard" frame

I appreciate that you must've got down really quite low for this shot, but wonder if you had rested the camera on the floor, whether you might have not had to include the sky at all? That way, we would be able to concentrate on the wonderful fungi without the distraction of either a bland sky or a wonky horizon!

One small point though - if you open the gate (remember to close it afterwards) you can "invite" people into your shot, rather than create a barrier to what's beyond it by leaving it closed - worth a try?

I like the detail in the nearest post and the wire - I do find the bland sky a little bit too bright, so I might be tempted to crop it off altogether - try scrolling the screen and see what you think

I like the composition too, and the detail in the boat and the jetty is lovely, but I might have been tempted to crop the top to get rid of the sky - I think it still works and focuses on the fg too

I like the way the railing leads you through the image too

Another good landscape tip that I was given when I first started, Oli, was that if there's nothing happening in the sky, crop it off! try it and see what you think - personally, I think you can afford to crop this to the top of the trees

I wonder if you got a touch of camera shake due to the low light conditions? You could always try using a tripod to overcome the problem

Just remember practise makes perfect, have you tried leaning on something solid to help prevent camera shake?

I really like the daisy, and the way you've got it in focus against the blurry bg, but I do find the leaf on the rh side a bit distracting, Matt. Not sure which software you use, but I'm sure it would be really simple to clone it out or just crop the image to loose it. try covering it up with a piece of card or your hand and see what you think

Gosh, looking at the water, it looks like it was really windy!

Personally, I don't mind the wall, and I really like the curve of the steps, but I'd crop the top off and get rid of the tree branch and bland sky
