Art work and reflections at Eldon Square bus station in Newcastle. This is the b&w conversion of a colour upload a few weeks ago. Some people found the colour image quite sinister and disturbing...
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Mono even more so to me.... sinister & disturbing that is
What a fab image
Mono is more gentle strangely enough, and the eye moves on more easily to the figure walking into the picture

Adam, thanks for summing up perfectly what I was looking for, it's the essence of what really appeals to me in street photography. Finding a relationship between the 'street' - architecture, advertising, graffiti, shop displays - and the passers-by.

Thanks Helen, I find b&w more harmonious, easier to take in as a linear composition.
Quote: for me the mono works better, seem to bring out the reflected figures in the silhouette more.
Well about an hour's work went into that reflection, (in the colour version first and then in b&w)... ![]()
Have a good day folks. Fingers crossed, we should be setting up our little exhibition at the new library this afternoon...

Hi Moira,
I can't make my mide up between this one and "Arrivals". They both work well.
Moira if you haven't tried it and you use elements make a copy of this image and then in blend mode' select "overlay", see what you think,. remember you can reduce the opacity.
Take care
Martin
I do believe this is the one Moira, where I actually complained about my favourite colour red being a bit distracting here ?
Not as distracting as Bill's comment about my favourite colour though !!
Like pink hot pants here,it is far easier on my eyes !!
Mick.
Thanks everyone, we're home on a flying visit. Martin, thanks for the suggestion. I use Elements 8, but I'll admit to having a phobia with layers. I'll try to summon up the courage to have a go!

Recognized this composition immediately - for some reason the colour stays in my mind.......Very different mood in this one. Have to say I prefer the colour version, and can't say exactly why, it's a visceral thing - the other feels maybe more alive to use that word.

I agree! Think this works better in mono than colour ![]()

Quote: Interesting I liked the colour version when you posted it but for me the mono works better, seem to bring out the reflected figures in the silhouette more.
I totally agree. There seems to be reflections on reflections, almost can't tell reality from the graphics.

Where the worlds of fiction and reality collide, even more impressive in mono
The more you look the more you see, layers and layers of people watching people.
Dougie
Yes, looks very good in mono Moira.
A very clever shot.
