Two different frames, at different focal lengths. I think I prefer the broader view in V1 (16mm), but I do like the stronger shadows in V2 (26mm).
Yesterday's upload produced some great Mods. Thanks to Albert, Jeff, Malc, Andrew, Rende (at the last count). I should do this more often.
Some people out there seem to understand our marriage remarkably well, incidentally...
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Two brilliant images Moira, I like them both but with a a very slight preference for v2
Hugh
This is a hard choice. When I saw V1 I immediatley put my hand up to the screen to crop out that hill on the right
Then I saw V2. Fab.
But can we have a V3 as well please
Thanks early birds! Barbara, I'll look back later and see if I have any other possibilities. I'm out this morning with the Ground Force, attacking the Himalayan Balsam by the river.
Moira
Interestingly I didn't notice the hill - my eye followed the lines of perspective to the very narrow gap between the trucks and the sheds
Beautiful sharp focus on the colourful foxgloves Moira ![]()
Helen
I like them both, both well framed both good colour, maybe V2 has just the edge for me.
John
Back home again, muddy and weary. Thanks to everyone who has visited here - a couple of points:
Interesting to see the comments re the sky in V1. For me a blue sky would upset the balance; and it would be much harder to find this year!
Plus, that's another shed roof in the distance, not a hillside.
Love Jeff's comment, 'Train delayed due to the wrong flowers on the track...'
Moira
I'm staying with V1 as the point of focus gives the importance to the flowers. The rest is fine for me because I really just see the flowers.
Dougie
Interesting comment re your marriage, must read the comments from yesterday again. ![]()
Loved the mods on yesterday's!
A great viewpoint and capture here, Moira... definitely V1 for me ![]()

Didn't notice the sky nor the hillside, too busy looking at the great perspective on the wagons you've got from the low pov and wide angle lens. The sharp clean flowers against the slightly oof rolling stock enhances the effect. v1 ... love it.

When I saw V1, I thought, "I love how those flowers have turned out and what an unique and brilliant backdrop for them!"
Then I looked at V2. The flowers look much better there although we sacrifice the backdrop.
That said, I have to say V2 is a much more toothsome image for me. Ok fine, you know I love flowers...and the flowers just look sooo good in V2 esPECially since they happen to have nice dark bits right behind 'em. That really brings them out.
But both VERY well shot, Moira.
Andrew
Really like this, so many people would walk past this shot
V1 giving us the bigger picture works best for me and is compositionally the more aesthetic
Quote: Really like this, so many people would walk past this shot
- says everything about your photography and why it's so good!
These are both great Moira and I really can't decide between them because they both work so well. I don't see why I should have to choose so I'm having both!
kind regards,
Robin
V1 for me and love the contrast between the rust and metal against the vibrant colour of the flower
