B&W beauty

B&W beautyAs a high-key portrait I think you have done very well. However, I would like to see great contrast in the eyes, and so perhaps a delicate touch of burning-in would enhance her very lovely peepers. Generally I think you are on the right track.

Fork

ForkThe dof is where you meant it to be and looks OK for that. However, the image lacks impact as the shadows are lacking in contrast, and to my eye the image does not convey any special quality. I think it worthwhile your revisiting it and trying to light it from various angles - checking your screen all the while - and try also to diffuse the light with, say, some tracing paper. If you increase the dof the fork will be less than a faint impression in the out-of-focus area which, I believe, will strengthen the image.

Talacre Sunset

Talacre SunsetThe sky is wonderfully coloured and with the bonus of the sun on the horizon. But surely, the lighthouse doesn't lean over further than the tower at Pisa, or does it? Perhaps a little Photoshop adjustment is called for, but if done well will make a superb final image.

afternoon nap

afternoon napClearly there was a photo here, but in honesty your angle was not the best. You ought to have moved to your left a few paces and shown us his face. There is much to like about this image, and I like the toning, but I guess the verdict has to be: could have done better.

That Was Just A Dream

That Was Just A DreamClone away the small white patch of light at the bottom (probably the top of another flower) and you'll improve this one immensely. I love the delicate tones and pastel colours.

holy island

holy islandJust a tad too central for compositional points and the image slopes away to the right, however I like the colours and I think this image could be improved by straightening and adjusting the levels and curves.

The Sculptor

The SculptorI think the pictures in the background are very distracting. Convert it to a mono and add a strong vignette to darken the background. I think it has merit and is worth a try.

Julie Urban Glamour 3

Julie Urban Glamour 3Too far away for a critical judgement. Get in closer next time, please. I think you are capable of very good portrait photography but you do need to think more closely about your subject matter.

Air vent and bails

Air vent and bailsIt's a nice image but could have been strengthened somewhat had you taken the shot closer to the air funnel and thus given it much greater emphasis in the foreground.
