great work of manipulation - definitely worth the hours i can imagine it took to create =)
i really need to get to know some portrait worthy people so i can play around with this sort of image style

the way these are done is by blending layers of concrete and old peeling paint photos over a portrait. the goal is to produce the look a human statue. i dodge and burn areas and usually leave a hint of background or construct one from composite layers of other shots.
sometimes i go out and shoot nothing but texture layers or background interests to use in these type of images. it's a completely different and refreshing approach to photography when i do this but i do get some strange looks.
I love this. It's a truly stunning and deeply absorbing composition. Brilliant work.
