Great effect, do you know of any tutorials on the net for this type of effect?

great work of manipulation - definitely worth the hours i can imagine it took to create =)

i really need to get to know some portrait worthy people so i can play around with this sort of image style

i love the effect you have created and i think the models eye contact really finishes the impact

keep up the great work

Creative work. I love the eyes and the overall effect. Worthy of the HC

Rob

thanks guys, and thanks pete.

the way these are done is by blending layers of concrete and old peeling paint photos over a portrait. the goal is to produce the look a human statue. i dodge and burn areas and usually leave a hint of background or construct one from composite layers of other shots.

sometimes i go out and shoot nothing but texture layers or background interests to use in these type of images. it's a completely different and refreshing approach to photography when i do this but i do get some strange looks.
