A rather minimalistic style photograph this morning. I have tried to keep this piece as simple in form as possible concentrating on only the needles head. The golden thread was added in order to create a touch of drama and opulence against the red and golden fabric. A piece that I rather admire, however please feel free to comment.
A very big thank you goes out to you all following yesterdays rather thought evoking image 'Sodden' bench. It was rather refreshing to know that many of year also had your own interpretations of the image, which in many ways gave me much fuel for thought.
Hope you all have a great day ahead.
Highest regards to you all Nathan

An intresting arangement...
I could not work it out untill I read your info....
Great colours very intresting D.O.F.
I think a slightly higher F stop is needed.
Just to work out what you see..
A bit more of the eye and thread...
Not much but enough to say that what it is...
I do like th e colours and lighting...
Great bit of work...
Dave

The colours work beautifully, as does the focus depth. Effective minimalism, Nathan.

Lovely and colourful, an ingenious example of shallow-dof photography. The addition of the gold thread was inspired.

It was not hard for me to work out your shot Nathan, having threaded thousands of needles over the years, I like the concept of this and think it works extremely well, and the eye of the needle is the point of focus, easily lead to it by the thread anyway, choice of colours is also very good so all in all a great attempt that spells success from my point of view, regards Leon.![]()

fine idea Nathan i doubt if i could have focused on the eye of the needle which is showing perfectly in this shallow dof the golden thread was an inspired addition well executed and exposed

Cleverly imaginative. Excellent idea with great limited d.o.f.
Lavina
Softness for a sharp subject, good thinking.
Moira
A great idea, and very well carried out and presented, Nathan. The shallow depth of field works well, and the subject stands out well against that background ![]()

I wish I could see the needle's eye this clearly when trying to sew on a button Nathan, well done.

Great, in medicine this is "Needle thread syndrome". This is the side effect of terbutaline,. But also a factor when people are Pres bi opic .
I would never have thought to take picture of needle and thread but have to say what a great idea, you never cease to amaze and surprise us all with your creativity
As soon as I opened this picture I instantly saw the eye of the needle and knew what “I” was looking at. But then after a second or two of studying it I saw the gold thread, a good colour to use. What I like about this best is you have produced another great yet simple image of an everyday object. Very clever and an extremely nice picture.

A classic example of less is more, Nathan. I do not feel that any more of this needs to be in focus, I like it just as it is.
The addition of the golden thread is absolutely necessary, otherwise the needle on its own would not have the same effect on the eye.

I think everything has been said about this image. Brilliant and again it has left me inspired to try something similar.

You have such a way with words Nathan and always express yourself so eloquently, frequently your comments have me in stitches. The Big O is in a grumpy mood again, plus ca change!
I bet he'll be really cheesed off tonight as his beloved Bristol City lost again in the Championship!![]()
the very selective focus on the 'opulence' has it, as opposed to minimalisitc.
gorgeous colours.
