Jazz Hands

Jazz Hands by JessBoothroyd

A good effort, nothing wrong with it technically but the pose looks uncomfortable and because you have chosen to take the image from a lower angle it is not very flattering. I don't think the 'bell' shape of her skirt helps much in this regard and it may help your image styling if you take the cut of the cloths into consideration when choosing poses.

This is a great shot, it has everything you need; composition, colour and light.

Heinz,

This is a great portrait shot. You have captured the eyes perfectly and this is the most important element when photographing babies.

Channel Crossing ...

Channel Crossing ... by sut68

This is simply an outstanding shot, well composed and the versions just make it more interesting. This is one of those shots you can look at and come back and look again and find something new each time.

Version 1 - Nice use of colour to give the image atmosphere, almost like there is a storm brewing behind the camera.

Version 2 - Cold and bleak and a complete contrast from V1.

Version 3 - Clever use of tones and tint to give the image more depth.

You have a real gift for processing your images and giving them just the right amount of colour and toning to provide just the right atmosphere.

Clever presentation! The leaf bottom right does not add much to the overall image and distracts the viewer, perhaps if it was toned down?

Bleak Moor

The B & W conversion and blue tone have added considerably to the dramatic effect of this image. If it had been mine I would have perhaps toned down the patch of light sky to the right of the image as my eye is drawn to it, and I am sure that is not your intention. Good overall effect though.

Very clever shot, colour popping is 'so last year' but when it is done using natural light it stands out from the crowd.

Trolley Man

Trolley Man by dandeakin

This is a very well constructed shot, you have fort on the right and the clouds in the sky that both lead the viewer to the centre of the picture where the sun is just sinking into the horizon. The movement of the water over the rocks in the foreground is well executed, and the rock centre left connects the ground, sea and sky. The obligatory 'heartbeat' is provided by the man with the trolley, giving a senses of scale. You may have guessed but I really like this image, well done.

This shot deserves more votes than it has received and interestingly, of those that have voted most have made a comment. This is a technically and ascetically excellent shot. Well Done

Great composition and crop. The use of B & W compliments the image and makes best use of the shadows.

Great shot, good use of shadows (an underrated quality in images).
