I think the facial light is lovely Ricky, she has good skin and bone structure and it looks great ,the kicker light is highlighting her hair just a little to much for me and giving a halo on her arm and shoulder area,i would like it a bit lower to balance the subdued light on her face, just a personal thing, and you asked .She is lovely and you are doing her justice .Well done its the hardest thing of all to get right.
Hello Pauline ,just had a quick look at your pf ,family seems to mean a lot to you and that is good to see.Good light and well exposed portrait, nice pose with the tilt of her head giving an angle to the eyes,i would get told about the elbow being cropped ,but that is by judges ,its your picture and i like it . yours Neil.
Hi Mario, its a fact that there are so many pictures on here each day it is impossible to look at them all and comment and sort out your pictures to put up ,we tried it and you finish just putting nice shot on all the shots because you dont have time . then you stop learning because you dont have time to study the work that others put up.getting lots of votes is great but it becomes hard work.you have learned a lot from the people on here and it shows, you are the biggest judge of your own work, there are a lot of people on here who dont get as many votes as me who are better photgraphers than me i dont think they are bothered, because, they have confidence in themselves.i look at their work and try very hard to learn from it ,enjoying what you do is the most important thing and trying to get better is crucial.keep doing what you are doing and look back sometimes to see how far you have come.
a white sky is something you have no real controle over you must expose for the area you are wanting to show, you can stop down a bit and then work in post processing or take it out and replace with a good sky . Dont expose for the sky in this shot or the building will come out very dark and the shadows black, i think.
the front pear could perhaps have been moved slightly back in the shot so that all the spines would have been in shot the bit at the back that you would have lost wold not matter as the shallow dof is blurring it any way,and the foreground would have had a bit more detail, but i think it is a good pov, good colour and detail may be taken the white cloud out to give a totaly blue sky. i think it is a good overall shot. hope this helps.once stuck my hand on one at St Julians bay, never again.
parts of the inside of the blue boat and the oars seem to be over exposed.the wood in the other boat looks good and has lots of detail to be shown.Marsaxlokk is a working fishing port with lots of character and colour do they still sell live octopuss ? there are some great photo opportunities there if it is still the same.hope this is of some help.yours neil and family
it is dark probably because you shot it against a light sky it is difficult to make out either mother or baby, if you put it in photoshop or other editing program you will be able to improve the picture. Also if possible seek help from someone with experience and take on board what they say, your father for one. Neil and other members of the family.
