Sure looks like a Shaggy to me. A good one too. Well done on the group shot.
A great low view point and detail. - gary
Not sure why you're questioning your description, Neil....that's what it is, and a fine image, too.
They tend to form little "family groups", with little ones and big ones, which is what you have so ably captured here.
I like the dark background to set them off and can even see little faces on the little ones, but that's just me.
I see little faces on the shorter ones. Well captured........Sandy
I agree with Pamela about a little family group here Neil.
Although they must regret that guy that came to the door,
and said he was a hairdresser and would give them a cheap family rate for a wash and blow dry !!
I notice Dad is missing.
He must be out hunting for the guy !!
Great macro shot of fungi beautifully lit.
Very handsome specimens.
Nice grouping Neil. ( I know that's the way they grow, but you've use the grouping to good effect )
A cracking shot and very good detailed image, Neil......
Getting up again after such shots is becoming for me harder and harder, Neil, so full marks for the effort from you and for the excellent result.
I do like these mushrooms, lots of great structures

A great specimen Neil, love the shaggy detail and well composed, not easy from the horizontal Carole
Excellent shot Neil.
Lovely piece of work Neil, it all works so well against the darkened BG.

A beaut N.H. shot. Great composition and detail. Deserves an award.
Defo Shaggies - and beautiful they are too. Love this image - the comp makes it look like something from a children's story book - once upon a time, there lived deep in the forest, on a blanket of fallen leaves..............
Wow - what a strange shape - great captured
Great detail and set off well against dark bg. Paul
They are indeed Shaggy Ink Caps in glorious detail.
Really impressive.... Love the contrast and the tones
Very nice image Neil well captured.
Superb shot Neil........I too can see faces on the little ones!!!! The light and low pov is excellent
A terrific macro Neil, the low viewpoint works so well and the detail is excellent
It is indeed a shaggy ink cap -- you can tell because it's kinda shaggy and it looks like it's dripping ink at the bottom. Very nicely taken.
