They are just killing off the last remnants of our industry and we are in deep **** ,so who do they blame next ,dont see them shutting down the banks or making MPs redundant ,so where the hell do we go from here ,we cant sell what we dont make .Just a muse .Thanks for your time again, pretty soon its all we will have .Neil.

I agree with the above comments: you have got the message over so well, both in your commentary, but also with this excellent shot.
The detail is superb and the character and cares of the chap comes over so well.
The inclusion of the pit head workings really presses home the message.
Ronnie.

Bit of anger and resentment in this mans appearance-- Like how you have arranged the elements of your image with the machinery in the bg!

Well done Neil, top composition. Our govenment have given all our money to the banks for bonuses, even though they caused this **** in the first place. Then they put up the price of food, gas electric and petrol, but stop wage rises. Then they say we should pay the banks the money back we have borrowed. What money, they've already got it. Then they decide to print more money to give to the banks, which they say will help us. HOW? I hear politicians saying they understand how hard it is for us, but I don't see Banker losing there bonuses,or politicians taking pay cuts.
The them and us society. See you tonight Neil and we will sort the world out then. Gerry

Don't get me started on Foreign aid ?

All being well Neil,my daughter will get her teaching degree from uni' next year.I have been telling her since she started to get the hell out of this country, and use her degree in Australia,New Zealand or anywhere else,as long as it is not in the UK.She didn't agree at first, but everynight watching the doom and gloom on the news, she is getting round to that way of thinking.Anyway, things will get better soon here.Cameron has found a solution to the mess we are in.He has told everyone who is in debt,to pay it back and things will all be hunky dory again !! I was down at Leith Docks recently and saw a shipload of illegal immigrants.I told them they could not land here and I would get the police. They said it was OK.They had been here for six months and were so fed up with the place they were going back home !!

Hi Neil, its a cracking portrait especially with the pit head winding gear in the background.
Its about time this government started to think about the ordinary working class folk rather than saving banks etc and keeping us in the EC. Just so they can feather their nest when they lose their jobs in government like the last. NONE of our MP's EVER listen to the masses and take note of what is really needed to make our country Great again. I AM SICK OF THE LOT OF THEM.

A wonderful portrait, Neil, enhanced by the pit head winding gear in the b/g. Agree with everything you and others have said!! We lost our business that we worked hard for in January 2009 due to the economic crisis and our employees lost their jobs!! No help for us from anybody, but then we were only a small business not a bank or multi national!!! It's about time the people in power started to think about putting the 'Great' back into Britain. !!!!!!!!!!!!
Take care, Pauline

Such a fantastic portrait Neil - I agree with your sentiments entirely - how long have we ordinary folks been saying it all though - non-one listens to us...............hard times and we might wake up tomorrow and find the world has gone bankrupt too. Hey ho...............

Great piece of combining of images Neil, it makes your observations all the more powerful, BTW the shot of the old fellow is just superb. As to your rant, I fully agree, the trouble is nobody in the top management knows anything about the work done in their factories, etc., they are all money folks poured out of the same mould, as for the politicians, don't get me started!

Hear hear! So much character and contemplation captured here. Really 'feel' this image. Thankyou Neil
