Having never seen one of these before on my travels, I went to an Arboretum last week and found loads of them.

Quite a few had holes in them but these two had as yet not been touched.

The second shot shows just how prolific they were.

Thanks for looking and for your continued support.

Wonderful colour and light, beautifully captured, Annette. I've never seen one of these beauties, and certainly have no chance of every finding one here! Carol

First one?...bloomin' eck Annette, they're both very good but for me, V2 has the edge simply for showing them all in a slightly different context to the normal shroom shot

Thanks Richard, if I'd have got down on my knees I would never have got up again !
Thanks Karen, the arboretum is next door to Castle Howard, it's so tranquil there with huge wide open spaces. It belongs to Kew I believe.

My first one - obviously I have led a very sheltered life, I must get out more.

V 1 is an excellent close-up, the detail in the subject captured so well and beautifully lit, whilst I do like V 2 showing the bigger picture, and with a crop that cuts out unnecessary distractions around. Nice work, Annette.

2 lovely shots of these so photogenic 'shrooms! Like all the other fungi, they seem to have enjoyed a wonderful year. Like the perfect stage of the young in V1 but lovely seeing the scattering in V2 likewise.

V1 is gorgeous, but V2 is unusual, it's not often people hold back and give the bigger picture.
