Well I need a break from painting fences so thought I'd take a moment to upload this shot, I took it a couple of nights ago when walking my dog through a local wood.
It wasn't an altogther wonderful experience as the place was covered in dog poo, lazy owners really spoil it for the rest of us ![]()
But looking on the bright side, because I had to keep looking at the ground for the whole walk, I saw this lonely Fly Agoric all on its own
.
The light was fading as it was quite late but I just managed to capture this before it really was too dark.
I'm going to have a rest from painting for a while so will try and catch up with you all.
Hope the sun is shining on you too.
Annette x

Quite early for them, I'd have thought but guess this year with so much rain we'll get to see many a fungi! This is a belter and will take some beating. It seems to be in prime condition, at a perfect stage of growth and the focus used is excellent. A top shot IMHO!

a great picture, it really sticks out and even looks poisonous
I think this is the first image I have seen this year too! Well spotted (no pun intended!), and a lovely capture with great focus.

A fine specimen Annette, it certainly is an early one, I never see any of these round my way either
Is it that time already ?
Like everything this year it seems to have come early
Lovely example of fly agoric Annette

Well done - this is super. I couldn't find any yesterday at Wakehurst NT
but they had just cut the grass.
