Hi again,
Just like buses, you don't hear from me for an absolute age and then I download two images, guess I'm hooked again ![]()
This image is of some of the seven bridges that are all in a row in Amsterdam, think I can count five. I took it through the window of one of the tour boats that was going quite quickly, so I really did have to just point and shoot and hope for the best.
My husband took me to Amsterdam for a 'special'
birthday and we had a fabulous time. I've been there quite a few times before but always in the depths of winter and a hundred years ago, so it was just lovely being there again and with sunshine.
Thank you so much for all your nice welcome back messages.
Annette x

Very well composed Annette, this is a beautiful image.

A superb image ..
I lived there for nigh on 12 years .... wish I was still there
On our only visit to Amsterdam I remember wondering what the view from the water would be; this encourages me to think of a return visit. 'Grab' shot or no, it succeeds really well: good perspective despite the haze - itself attractive and atmospheric - sparkle on the water in the f/g, detail in the brickwork beneath the arch, the general tones, even the vignetting, all contribute to the character of the image and the place. Super!
Regards
Bill
In all the seven years I spent there and during all my childhood visits I've never seen it like that, what a fantastic, great romantic shot!
makes me feel a lot less p----ed off with the Amsterdam of later years
Beautiful image Annette. Lovely gentleness about it.
I'm glad you had a super 21st Birthday in Amsterdam ![]()

Love the haze and you've captured the atmosphere as well as the bridges very well
