Great shot John, my first impression was too long an exposure,I would like to see a little more water texture.

I like this, the water has almost stopped looking like water.

Hi Soren,

It's just near the Blackling Hole car park, upstream of the main waterfall and the bridge. It's pretty easy to get to in normal weather but I like visiting in snow because it's near impossible to get a car within half an hour's walk of it and that seems to turn it into a real wilderness some how.

I walked along the valley floor today and found the footprints I left a week ago. No other prints in sight. That has to be pretty rare on this crowded little island Smile

Hamsterley is one of the forestry commission forests covered by the planned government sell off. Please see below and add your support if you care about keeping access to beautiful natural woodland like this for future generations...

For sale: all of our forests (Guardian)
Forests under threat (Northern Echo)
