the peak was special this morning, even by Peak district standards. i decided last minute to make the trip and by the time i left chesterfield i was sinking further into mist.

it was pretty clear this was going to be be deep cover and probably over the top of curbar so i sped ever upwards trying to emerge above. by wooden pole i was above but it was below higger by too much to be dramatic so i made a rash decision to put the foot down and go for mam tor as high as i could hoping the the hope valley would be full of inversion.

couldnt see a thing until the top of winnats and then wow it was the best inversion i have seen.

by the time i arrived near the summit, there was around 6 other togs beat me to it but there was enough mist to go around.

ill post more but this is the classic view of hope cement works breaking through the inversion

must be out of condition, had to stop twice on the ascent for breath, used to be able to stride up. still i was 60 a few weeks back and i can still get up there without a zimmer frame

thanks for looking
Phil
