A once in a lifetime opportunity occurred on Saturday morning, where three Gresley A4's were lined up before service in the yard, past Deviation, at Grosmont.
In order [from left] is 'Union of South Africa' , 'Bittern' and 'Sir Nigel Gresley' . For those of you in the know the engine far right is Schools Class, 'Repton' which wasn't runing this weekend.
I heard later that morning that this is highly unlikely to happen again, as one of the owners doesn't want his lined up with another A4 ... I hope this isn't true as it's a sight to behold in 'the flesh'!!!
Met up with Andy [Hailwood] and Graham [Graysta] for a great morning at the yard ... cheers for all your time and help guys. Fran even made a friend for life by the look of it ... hi Peter if you're looking in
Also bumped into the Friths - Tony and Glynnis - nice to finally meet you both, and also Stephen [Wigge] after we were last there nearly 12 months ago. Was like a mini EPZ meet
Originally shot with a this format in mind ... anyway, have a gander at the large on if you've got the time ... after all, it's BIGGER
