Morning,
Apols for the lame title. Head not quite in gear this morning.
Popped along to New Brighton lighthouse last night. Attempted to drag the guardian along too but he missed my msg. As you can see, you missed nowt Anthony!
Still having sharpening issues. Ce la vie
Thanks for looking
Mand.

haha. Captains log...stardate fraped o'clock.
I have to disagree on the horizon. The wave is making it look out but I checked it and it's all good. Can you see the pinks Anthony?
I like the light and the composition, has a nice feel about it, nothing to dislike, perhaps a tad sharper but that's all. good capture well presented.
John
Well, it looks good to me, and that horizon's as near as damn it level! Lovely work, Mand ![]()

Mand. Are they sharpening issues or focusing issues? The log looks crisp and sharp, but the LH is off. This suggests that the front to back sharpness is off and that your hyper focal distancing technique is out. Consider revisiting this. I'm constantly amazed by the figures I get from my hyper focal distancing app - they seem ridiculously close to, yet they seem to work (although I am frustrated somewhat by the lack of specific distances been shown on my zoom lenses - e.g. under 1 meter). Remember - focusing 1/3 in does not always work depending on your focal length and aperture - whilst its a good rule of thumb it isn't infallible. You could try Marks trick of sticking it in autofocus
LOL - I better run before he see's this ![]()
