Just a quick upload to say Happy New Year to all.
I'm not too bothered about votes etc on this, it forms part of a tutorial in my latest blog entry. I would like to hear what you think of the tutorial (on the blog page please) suggestions as to what to include when I submit it properly to Pete.
This was a conventional image from the same session.
I know IR is like marmite and this will flop (I meant to turn off votes) -
Once again I wish you all a happy New Year.
A lovely B&W image, with great DOF.
A wonderful feeling of motion. A beautiful image. All the best in 2012............Sandy
A lovely soft flow to the wheat/barley/whatever and a great sky above it.....whoops....voted
Happy New Year Nick
I adore this....sorry Nick, but its going in my fav's folder!
I really like IR and I love this Nick. Superb work.
Excellent composition and composition.
Thanks everyone - Thanks for the UA Derek
That wavy corn is excellent. Very effective.
A really informative and easy to understand write up. I'm sure lots of people will find it useful. I used to like using SFX years ago which was really IR cheating but it gave a nice gentle effect. Now I'd just go to Nik Silver EFEX if I ever feel the urge.
I really like this!
Have a great New Year Nick.......
I think this is a lovely shot. And I'm a big fan of IR as well.
Have a good one Nick, speak next year to you
All the best for 2012
And 1 makes 30.
Thanks everyone. A bit amiss of me, Charlotte I'm glad you like it enough to include into your favourites.
Right enough for tonight time to get ready, hopefully the hangover won't be too bad tomorrow. The question is can I keep to the New Years resolution ... Tee total for all January, my wife gives me a week!
a stunning composition! A first class infrared image.. will go and read your tutorial
Not a flop with me, Nick - love it!
Happy New Year to you
Nick, no way is this a flop.
Movement & compo is great.
Have another well deserved vote & a HNY!
IR has worked a treat for this one - it has enhance the rows of wheat. Lovely tones.
Happy new year mate.
Blog looks cool on the technicalities (Im no expert so didnt add a comment).
Id maybe investigate the difficulty level (inc pro/cons) of trying to convert a DSLR to I.R at home. I know Tim (Cirrus) has done it successfully after some net research on his old A100 recently.
Perhaps one glaring omission is a section on the type of image that would benefit from the I.R approach.
Time of day , reflective vs ambient light , foliage pure greens / blues vs muted tones , is the subject matter approached with a b/w conversion in mind (angular lines working with strong contrast) etc....
Excellent mono image and processing.
