This was a super evening, and its a time I learned a lot about photography. Why? well normally I wouldn't have even bothered taking the camera out, it was dull and lifeless. I had, that day been offered a new position within the company I work for (which I accepted and am loving doing), but I had a lot to consider - so I thought well just get out - put on the big stopper, put the ISO on LOW 1 (100 in real money) get some long exposures - I then contemplated what had transpired during the day - not really thinking about the photography.
The resultant images ranged from a couple of minutes upto about 10 if memory serves me correctly.
So why did it help my photography - well even on the back of the camera the dull lifeless scene was changed to a surreal, tranquel image with great highlights and deep shadows. It helped me think even when the elements arnt as you hoped, with a bit of thought, you can get some very pleasing images, and the ones I came away with are, I believe some of my best black and white landscapes, tho of course you may agree to differ !!
Oh why the title, well a bit of play on words but dedicated to the assistance my ipod played in creating the mood that late evening.
Have a great day, I have some cars to test drive (weather permitting !!)

Quote: Love this, although you could remove the dust bunnies to make it perfect.
Keep up the good work

Where Jules? I've scoured it again (as I always do - at full size), if you are referring to the dark patches in the water, they are the rocks, which you don't really see unless you look at the full size file.
I love mono images and this one is superb. It is very calming to look at - a beautiful kind of serenity to it. The one thing that I particularly like is the slightly opaque water in the foreground where we see the submerged rocks.
Congratulations on another very well deserved award.

A great mono as ever Nick, well done on the promotion and HC ![]()
Darren.
I remember seeing this on your website (I think) and being very impressed. I love long exposure shots when they are done well and this is a super example Nick.
