First thanks to all the messages recently and the support.
I've not been out with the camera for over 2 months for various reasons.
Well I've got the buzz back - but will still only be popping in on EPZ occasionally as priorities change (and i want to keep my photography fresh).
Right now to yesterday
This was the first time out in 2 months - together with a new camera, which I'm still getting used to (this was just the 12th time I'd pressed the shutter), and my cheap eBay cable releases failed (also didn't work on the D300).
A big thanks to Mike for yesterday a highly enjoyable day and thanks for the loan of the lens (not the one used here) and the, aahmmm filter (more of that on another date).
To say I'm impressed with the camera is an understatement.

Composition, light, textures, creative use of format - ticks so many boxes. Great to see you active again - I think this winter has been particularly destructive of creative impulses, for a lot of us. Hopefully spring is waking us up again.

A fine image Nick. Good to see you back and congrats on the new toy.
Darren.
Stunning stuff, Nick, gorgeous lighting and beautiful detail and textures in the foreground limestone.

Thanks again, just had Sunday night syndrome exceptionally slow Internet connection so couldn't get online.
Quite pleased how this has been received. I know its not original just wanted to give the camera a run out somewhere where I could get intricate FG detail to check out the sharpness of my existing lenses.
Nearly ended up here ourselves, but instead we went a little further north. This shot looks well, lovely graduated colours. My attempts with the 'ahem' ... new filter came out quite nice too ![]()
Shot looks well Nick, glad you got your Mojo back. Hope you are enjoying the new box.
