I think the title says it all really.
This is so startlingly brilliant! I really don't have the words, this is so good. I would give it my award in a blink but I can't until tomorrow, and then I will!!
Fab props Nick, that birdcage is lovely & I do like your location,an interesting room.
Just to nit pick a tad...your upper arms just don't seem to sit right Nick,I do see a bit of haloing at the edges of your sleeves, especially on your left arm.Not sure if your arms/elbows are resting on the table or not...maybe missing a touch of shadow there ?
I like the colour treatment & I must admit,at first glance this did make me smile.
Janet, the bit with me, chair, table and paper is a straight shot. I think it's the toning on the table (which has seen better days) that's causing the impression of haloing - I've seen it on other shots with the table( I've used it for some of the stills) the vignette is also partially to blame. However when it's printed it looks fine. The Goldfinch was from years ago, when I popped over to see you.

Thought I recognized him

Something is just not sitting right there for me Nick ( including you...lol...soz I just couldn't resist that one,but you are a sitting Duck...ooops,another sorry )
To put it straight forward, your arms look as though they are floating, not grounded,I'm sure it's the light underneath,on the top of the table, maybe your elbows need to be bent & resting on the table to hold it together.
I'll have a quick look on Photoshop & see what I come up with...although you have no mods available..tut,tut
BTW...that table is really nice.
Yep,it's the light on the table, just had a very quick faff, darkened virtually the whole table with the emphasis where it meets your upper arms...for me,much better.
I've seen a couple of other birdcage shots: they involved heads inside cages, so this is very different.
We all make our own prisons?
Well deserved award, as promised yesterday!
I still think this is a brilliantly thought out, and worked through, image. Stunning!
