jeez was this 5 years ago.
Time out with the camera seem non-existant these days - I will have to refer back to the manual to see how to turn it on!
A complete rework of a very old image..in preparation for something VERY different (tho probably wont see the light of day for some time). And no theres no HDR (in the current version - the original was blitzed to bits in photomatix)
This is how it looked 5 years ago I haven't seen a few of the voters then around EPZ much these days
many gave me a lot of help back then.,

A beautiful scene, such glorious light and autumnal colours
I recognise that tree. Years ago I photographed an American gentleman pretending to hang himself from it, for his son to photograph. I photographed him too, and we swapped pictures by email afterwards. I've completely forgotten about the rest of the day...

Surely it should be Padley '07 then? ![]()
Much better!!!
.. LOL - name changed cheers mate - tho in my defence, if my memory serves me right I wasn't quite firing on all cylinders (yes it was from that meet)
Yea well I'd like to think my processing has come on a little since then ![]()
5 years ago was when I joined epz, couldn't offer much advice but admired your work Nick and still do. A nice rework.
Darren.
excellent light, no idea how you got the definition into the original, which looks pretty dark and zapped.
this here is fantastic, it shines!

I think we must have joined about the same time Darren, and that's a big compliment from someone as talented as you.

I think it was what I did to the original Annette, one of the great reasons for keeping the RAWs I used to put everything through Photomatix, and it was very clunky back then, and by the look of it I undid all the HDR by slapping a great big S curve on. Now I don't use HDR for landscapes (rarely at all TBH), there are much better ways of blending exposures.

It's an interesting comment. You already have more votes on this (naturally because it's better) but remember the quality of the photo back then. It was a time when you may agree you needed help...but for several years you've been producing work that needs very little help. So you're less likely to get any
Also throughout those years hundreds of forum posts from people saying how you should and shouldn't comment or vote may have dulled down a lot of the activity that would have arisen today - we have around 10x more members than we did back then.
Pete the comment on the old names was merely a reflection of what I thought reflecting back at names I've not seen in years, and I remembered their help. I still get lots of help on the DMs for example ( which is why I reprocessed this for a future project) and I've always encouraged critique. Hopefully comments I have given have helped others just as those guys did me back then - and to balance there are others who are just as active these days.
Stunning colour and light Nick. Processing looks great.
