Just a fleating visit.
As I mentioned in the last post I'm not completely happy with my photography of late so I took a mini break.
I'm trying a few different things out processing wise, so I would be intregued to hear your comments - I think it works - it certainly looks good in print.
I will be back uploading on a more regular basis in a few weeks - providing I can get some new material, I'm just getting more picky these days.
This was from earlier this year at a Northscape workshop (really missed not going recently - but was my daughters birthday).
Works? This is awesome and whatever you've done with this is impressive!!
Looks pretty darn good to me Nick..loads of detail
Awesome texture, tone, and comp ...........Rob
Makes one feel they are walking in your picture. Amazing atomosphere............Sandy
Well, whatever processing you've done, I'd be interested to know, as this is superb. Nothing wrong with being picky about what you post. With quality like this, why would you want to publish inferior images. This is top drawer stuff. I particularly love the pool of water.
works for me. Amazing detail
Choosing to concentrate on the wheels and connecting rods makes for a refreshing change from the usual steam loco shots, and the shot has been captured immaculately, the degree of symmetry also contributing to it's success.
Punchy and nicely processed Nick. I like the low viewpoint and damn but that's a well placed puddle for those subtle reflections and a break to the symmetry. No niggles
Super puddle , and yes, this works marvelously!
Quote: No niggles
I will try harder to leave you something next time Dave
Judging by the amount of passing traffic this doesn't appear to be to everyones taste, that's OK, tho I would be intrigued to hear why is it something obvious I've missed or just the overall processing you don't care for?
"Judging by the amount of passing traffic this doesn't appear to be to everyones taste, that's OK, tho I would be intrigued to hear why is it something obvious I've missed or just the overall processing you don't care for?"........I shouldn't worry too much, who knows why people have stopped and commented or voted etc, it's probably because the subject isn't a naked woman. I really like this image, it works SO well, the pov is great, like Sandy says it has an amazing atmosphere
ooopps didn't edit my previous comment in time...it should've read 'who knows why people haven't stopped and commented....', can't seem to type this morning, all thumbs
its fine Nick, we missed you
LOL... At Pink, I'm always making typos.
Missed you & Keith too Maddie hope your both well.
Like the unusual angle and viewpoint here Nick - and the processing looks spot-on to me
Just kiddin' - top work, Nick
LOL... Keith, don't know what you mean
Thanks everyone for the comments.
Wow, this is lovely, excellent clarity, you really feel like you want to walk on in a touch the engines.
Thanks Stuart for the GEA its much appreciated.
You see, nothing to worry about, lots of people appreciated the image and now a GEA
Thanks Kaleena, much appreciated
This would be well good with a before and after variant as well Nick.
(Before you had a leak , and after)
